Middle School: College Readiness Preparation

Middle school can be a challenging time for even the most successful students (and parents!). This service evolved as a result of feedback parents who felt their child would have benefited from the support and guidance offered below.

6th Grade: Everything you need to know about successful middle school transition! Students will hit the ground running as they develop strategies and learn tips for adjusting to new expectations, increased rigor, and the daily grind of dealing with peers, lockers, the cafeteria, homework and staying organized! Parents will learn ways to support and advocate for their child in ways that foster positive relationships with the school community.

7th and 8th Grade:

Teachers are expecting students to become even more independent learners. This is where the "hidden curriculum" that many teachers assume students have mastered is essential to academic success. It is used in all subject areas and focuses on proven strategies and skills related to how to learn: specific note-taking skills, test-taking strategies, critical thinking skills, questioning skills, effectively communicating with the teacher, and many more!
